Haylie Ecker, first violinist, is from Perth, Australia, and has received a First Class Honours Degree in Music and a postgraduate degree in Advanced Solo Studies from London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has played extensively around the world as a soloist and continues her classical violin career in addition to playing with Bond.

I recently spent a summer break in Kenya, Africa, lapping up the wild life! I found the whole experience awe-inspiring! It was nature: beauty at its purist form! I went on safari where I saw lions and lionesses, so close I could hear them purr! I admired the elegent impala, soaring augur buzzards, zebra and flamingos in their thousands, together forming the most incredible flamingo pink coast line from a distance! I taped bird calls for inspiration to write, as well as taking in their unique characteristics and beauty. And I must not forget the butterflies; so light and free and just stunning! It was beauty at it's best!
To cuddle and adore, I love my pet black labradors Lexi and Draco, and Moo Shoo da poodie cat!

Favourite Music
I am going through a stage of loving ethnic music! I love the modal harmonies and use of instruments and percussion in both traditional and more contemporary settings. Ravi Shankar is pheneomenal as are Rachid Taha, Omar Feruk Tekbilek, Jah Wobble in collaborations with musicians such as Natacha Atlas, and Trilok Gurtu.
I absolutely adore Frank Sinatra as I do BB King, Björk, U2, Sting, Red Hot Chili Peppers… it’s really quite diverse! And I must mention the boyz who I think add a touch of spice (maybe jalapeno peppers) to violin playing — Nigel Kennedy and Roby Lakatos. They are truly brilliant! I am loving Nigel Kennedy plays Jazz CD at the moment!

Rise and Shine juice or Red Om smoothies from Notting Hill’s “Fresh and Wild” — that's my favourite way to start the day! I absolutely looooove to cook , so to name one thing is impossible, but I do crave sushi and adore chocolate (especially Galaxy caramel)!
