PICK-UP

Pick-Up is mixture of musical styles (mostly falls under «alternative») and brightly expressed texts touching various topics. In our lyrics we talk of love, relationship, global problems, etc.
The band was founded on June, 15, 2004 in Kyiv. and the starting formation was: Kostya «KOYSS» Leontovich (vocals, guitar), Alexey «LEXi» Ignatusha (bass), Sergei «KOBRA» Pankratiev (drums) and Andrew «PAKET» Kropolnitsky (vocals). The Name PICK-UP has come spontaneously, when the boys had something to write on the invitation to their first concert. Although «Pick-up» seems to be just a cool image of an old reliable loved vehicle, but the idea is performing songs that will raise one’s spirit. Untill the end of 2007 band members were not changed and during this time managed to attend more than thirty Ukrainian festivals and concerts and won few of them. PICK-UP walked the way to glory on their own, and it was not that easy: It was needed to play in little mossy clubs, carry heavy equipment here and there, travel to distant locations in an old train at their own expenses. Unfortunately this was not what many of us dreamed of and by the end of 2007 there remains only 2 participants (Kostya Leontovich (vocal, guitar) and Alexey Ignatusha (bass)).
In 2008 PICK-UP invites new people (Alexander Tarasov (drums), Taras Rudenko (keys)) and releases debut EP «BLIZHCHE» without any outside help. But this mini-album is spread online only.
In September, 2008 by a reason of transition of Leontovich Kostya to new project, PICK-UP was «frozen» for a while, and musicians were dismissed. But at the end of the same year a band is recreated. Author of all songs Konstantin Leontovich, decides to breath life into PICK-UP and put his soul, potential and inspiration in the art of this band.
New members,- but for this time priorities were set correctly.
All or nothing is the aim now. Band is working on a new and unreleased material.
As appeared later such changes became of benefit to the band. It was a new beginning for PICK-UP. Putting band back to life it was formed of Valik Oleynik (drums), Nikita Rusakov (bass) and permanent leader Kostya Leontovich.
Jokingly guys call themselves «Energy Pop-Trio». Band started to conquer more and more new listeners and fans…
