Lo-fi alt. rock band Additional Moog occupy the same aural territory as the likes of
Wilco, Pavement, The Band, Beck and The Jayhawks. They made their live debut at
Birmingham’s Academy 3 supporting KT Tunstall and have since gone on to play venues
such as Manchester’s Night & Day, London’s Hope & Anchor and Birmingham’s Barfly.
Additional Moog originally started out as a one-man studio project ?» influenced by the
music of Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young and the Silver Jews and the song titles of Captain
Beefheart. James Williams played and recorded everything himself until finally finding
three other people into both ABBA and ELO.
The original Admoog demos notched up 30,000 downloads via the site. Along the way,
former Pavement auxilliarist Bob Nastanovich signed up as a collaborator on an as-yet
unfinished album.
The band have recently signed with U.S. indie label Lost Cat Records, who have released
«Holy Jukebox» as Additional Moog’s first official stateside single. The demo version of
the song was recently made Track Of The Day at the respected website Garageband.com.
