If people start focusing on something but music they unintentionally ruin the whole idea of it, and the artist who’s being talked about quickly changes into a kind of a social prostitue, selling his talents off and trying to be as famous as possible, do as many gigs as he’s able to do, earn as much money as he’s capable of. In this case, at the end of it all you’ll say:
«It’s all gone pear-shaped… I shouldn’t have done it».
Well, you will have become extremely popular though, but…
But if you avoid it, if you let people listen to your music and decide on their own what it is about without focusing on its authors, if you let them rate it on their own and discuss with each other what the very music wants to tell them, you do good.
